Programme, 2026

In-school programme reaches Nuwara Eliya and Kantale

Empowerment Inside School extends into the plantation estates of the central hills and into Trincomalee district.

When: During 2026
Where: Nuwara Eliya and Kantale
Format: In-school programme
Who was there: 114 learners in Nuwara Eliya and five schools in Kantale, as recorded

Empowerment Inside School reached Nuwara Eliya, with 114 learners in robotics, and Kantale, across five schools.

With Batticaloa and Hatton in 2025, the programme now runs in three districts: Batticaloa and Trincomalee in the East, and Nuwara Eliya, where the Hatton hub works, in the central hill country. DreamSpace Academy runs it inside government schools, with written approval from the zonal education office.

The academy’s work in Nuwara Eliya began before the programme: a mobile journalism workshop ran there with Grow Education learners in October 2023.

The figures above are enrolments as recorded, not evidence of what learners gained. The effects are expected to show two to five years later, and that period is the weakest part of the academy’s measurement.
