AI Camp

Three days of teaching computers to recognise images, body positions and sounds, aimed at problems in nature.

When: 28 June 2023
Where: Batticaloa
Format: Camp, three days

DreamSpace Academy ran a three-day artificial-intelligence camp at the end of June 2023, under the heading learn, create and network.

Day one covered the basics.
Day two covered image and sound classification (teaching a computer to sort pictures and sounds into groups), pose detection (teaching it to follow how a body is positioned), and how these are used in real life.
Day three moved to animated drawing and current tools, and closed with participants taking on challenges.

The camp focused on artificial intelligence for nature. It is the earliest camp in the line of artificial-intelligence work that makes up most of the academy’s teacher training two years later.
