Dreamboat, a floating science centre on the lagoon

A solar-powered floating makerspace that turns live environmental data from the lagoon into public visualisations.

Dreamboat is a solar-powered floating makerspace and community science centre on the Batticaloa lagoon, at the Ocean Lab. Its sensors, drones and instruments turn live environmental data into public visualisations, and it is designed for the community to run.

Andrew Quitmeyer’s project won a Tomorrowland Projects Foundation Award in 2022, administered through the New York Foundation for the Arts.
