DreamSpace Academy hosted the third Digital Naturalism Conference, known as Dinacon, for the whole of July 2022.

Dinacon brings together field biologists, designers, artists and technologists to try out new ways of working with the natural world. The gathering is self-funded and self-organised, and the work is shaped by the place where it is held. It moves to a different country each year, and in 2022 the country was Sri Lanka.

It is the largest single event among the academy’s recorded activities. More than fifty international participants lived and worked at the academy for a month. Volunteers were chosen on the first day and organised into teams, and workshops ran continuously.

The Government Agent and the Divisional Secretary attended the closing celebration on 30 July alongside the delegates.

Delegates and the team decorated and arranged the workspaces together, built a bamboo boat for floating meditation on the lagoon, and made an interlocking mural for the entrance of the Hive.
