Opening, 2021

The Software Lab

The earliest dated evidence of the software teaching track, taught in Tamil and English.

When: 20 April 2021
Where: Batticaloa
Format: Lab

The earliest dated evidence of the Software Lab is from April 2021. The lab grew into a full software, web and artificial-intelligence teaching track.

By September the Head of the Lab, Gunarakulan Gunaratnam, was publishing online teaching in software engineering in both Tamil and English. Software careers are hard to reach in this district because most of the teaching exists only in English.

The April date comes from the earliest photograph. It is not a confirmed opening date.
